"Shock" was B2ST's big single early on this year, and it got the band a lot of attention. This October, B2ST has made a comeback with their newest video "Soom." Next week, B2ST plan on releasing their mini-album "Mastermind," and hope to generate enough hype for the album with this music video. As for the video itself, here are a few interesting things to note:
1) The dancing is really well done. It's not on the same level of SHINee's "Lucifer," which was quite possibly the most complicated dance of the year, but B2ST's "Soom" has definitely one of the best dances for October. It's interesting how similarities are drawn between SHINee and B2ST, because recently SHINee commented that B2ST is not their rivals. Surely they won't admit it, but that's not going to stop people from thinking it.
2) There's a very striking similarity between B2ST's "Soom" and 2PM's "Without U." 2PM's video was released in April, and was mainly the band singing in the dark in the rain, all in black, sometimes shirtless. The exact same can be said for B2ST's video as well. In fact, there are even some identical panels between the two videos, in which a man is on his knees screaming into the rain. Why B2ST decided to imitate the video so thoroughly is q mystery.
3) Another similarity, though not quite as interesting as the other two similarities, is with Miss A's newest single, which is titled "Breathe." For perhaps just another freak coincidental reason, Miss A released their video for "Breathe" and then B2ST released their video a few days later. Why both bands release songs about breathing so close to each other is quite confusing as well.
Altogether, even though there are many similarities between B2ST and SHINee, 2PM, and Miss A, B2ST is doing their best to stand out from the crowd for this month, and hopefully will stand out enough to have a successful CD launch next week, when the Mastermind mini-cd finally hits stores in a few days. - 40723
