Bill Murray's Best Roles In Years Past

By Dennis Pollard

This article will discuss the movies and career of the great actor, Bill Murray. Ever since the late 80s, I have been a huge fan of Bill Murray and have seen practically all of his movies. The man is a comical genius and you are guaranteed for a good laugh (or good movie if it's not a comedy) as long as he is in it.

Let's discuss some of his better films from throughout the years.

1993 was a great year for movies. One of the best movies to be relased in that year was Groundhog Day. According to the Internet Move Database, Groundhog Day is ranked as a top 200 film of all time. I cannot say I disagree with this ranking.

No list of Bill Murray movies would be complete without mentioning at least one movie directed by Wes Anderson. You can make arguments for all of Wes Anderson's movies, but my personal favorite film from this director that starred Murray was The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Another movie that featured Murray and happened to be directed by Wes Anderson is The Royal Tenenbaums. Then again, this movie practically features every actor or actress that has ever been featured in a Wes Anderson movie.

One of the more recent films that I absolutely loved was Zombieland. If you have not yet seen this film, then I don't want to give anything away. All I will say is that Bill Murray has a small part that is definitely the funniest part of the whole movie.

I have to include Lost In Translation on this list as well. I don't want to give anything away, but this is one of my favorite endings of any "romantic" film in recent memory. Sophia Coppola did an incredible job directing this movie.

Hopefully there are one or more films on this list of Bill Murray classics that you have not yet seen. - 40723
